Since our last meeting was on Thursday, I did not have any major new goals for the week. My main plan was to help finish any remaining details, fix smaller issues that came up, and contribute wherever the project needed extra support before the final push.
I was able to add the virus object to the game. I also fixed an issue where the timer was not showing correctly on the UI, and I fixed the camera rendering issue that happened because the mothership had been scaled up. These were smaller tasks, but they helped clean up important gameplay and visual details.
The week went mostly how I expected. Since we had just met on Thursday and there was not much time between then and this update, I was mainly focused on finishing smaller fixes rather than starting a large new feature. I would have liked to take on more if there had been more time, but the main priority was making sure the remaining pieces of the game were working properly.
Since this is our last week, my goal is to help finish anything remaining that is necessary for gameplay. I want to focus on final bug fixes, polishing the player experience, and helping make sure the game feels playable and complete before the final deadline.
I did not learn a major new concept this week, but I did get more practice with debugging smaller integration issues, especially where UI, camera rendering, and game objects interact. I expected this week to be more about polishing and fixing issues than learning something entirely new.
My morale is good. We are close to the end, and I am looking forward to Friday. The game has come together a lot, so I am excited to see the final version finished.
