My goals for this week were to combine work across the team and address bugs that are coming up as the system becomes more complex.
I ended up focusing on implementing the task of stealing from the geisel library. This included me re-doing the model for the space station. I used Bernico's live object implementation to give the Bear's health. I implemented an inventory of space station stuff so that once you kill the bear it drops items to pick up. I used Jacky's tractor beam to pick said stuff up.
I think I picked up less tickets in terms of quantity than usual. However, I think the pr I worked on had a larger scope and more nuance than I was expecting. A lot of the work I was doing was dependent on other prs being merged, so I think I just worked a little slower than usual.
My specific goals for next week are to maybe do a playtest with our group to see where the next most important work needs to be done. I think there are a few gameplay tasks that still need to be done, so I would probably pick up something like that.
I did not learn anything too new. Mostly like before, I was learning about how blender works and models in general. I realized I need to separate the bear and geisel models in order to apply live objects to the bears.
I am feeling decent about what I have this week, but maybe feeling like I could have done more this week. However, I realize that the pr I worked on was large and a multiday process. I look forward to doing more next week.
