Kane's Week 9 Report

what were your concrete goals for the week?

I wanted to implement chaseable entities and make sure we could distinguish players.

what goals were you able to accomplish?

I didn't actually complete either of these goals, as I added text rendering instead and spent time creating blender models for the chaseable alien thieves.

if the week went differently than you had planned, what were the reasons? note that this happens regularly...I would prefer you to be aggressive in what you want to try accomplish rather than limit yourself to goals you know you'll easily achieve. so answering this question is more of a reflection on the development process and the surprises you encounter, it's not at all an evaluation.

Even though I didn't get much done, it was about as I had expected. Over the weekend, one of the clubs I'm part of hosted a 250 person event, and as expected I was very busy running that and recovering afterwards.

what are your specific goals for the next week?

To implement chaseable entities completely and improve the game UI through better particle effects and asteroid coloring and overall lighting.

what did you learn this week, if anything (and did you expect to learn it)?

I learned how to edit blender meshes, add blender materials, and export it. This was unexpected for me since I've mainly been coding.

what is your individual morale (which might be different from the overall group morale)?

I'm feeling motivated! It feels good to be through the event I was worried about and have the time and energy to properly dedicate myself to the game.
