Week 1 Report

What I did

  • Helped define Project Spec
  • Assisted with the game engine design

What I am doing this week

  • Code an engine to make cube spin

What I am doing next week

  • Physics Engine!
  • Network integration!

Week 2 Report

What I did

  • Helped structure Game engine
  • Worked on network integration with the engine
  • Helped graphics (find libraries, got a model to show!)
  • Worked on integrating everything!
  • Alot of debugging work

What I am doing this week

  • Camera!
  • HUD!
  • Movement?
  • More debuggin!
  • More integration

What I am doing next week

  • More robust camera
  • Extending player movement
  • Odds and ends :)

Week 3 Report

What I did

  • Basic HUD that displays player number and health (in a color changing bar!!!!)
  • Fixed 3rd person camera
  • Fixed control mapping for camera
  • Basic Jumping
  • Fancy Wall Jumping

What I am doing this week

  • Fix our bug with rendering more than one tentacle
  • Attack logic player => tentacle
  • Incorporating attack logic tentacle => player
  • Death logic (when all 4 players die)
  • Collision boxes for the tentacle

What I am doing next week

  • More logic! for attacking!
  • Updating jump logic for gravity switching
  • Updating camera for gravity switching/being dead

Week 4 Report

What I did

  • Player attack logic!
  • Fix rendering bug
  • Monster attacking stuff (1 monster object, many tentacles)
  • Fixing the arena collision boxes
  • Allowing many collision boxes per object

What I am doing this week

  • Charging
  • HUD object
  • Particle effects maybe
  • Add heads + animation support
  • Shooter logic

What I am doing next week

  • Cleaning Up
  • More rendering stuff probably.

  • Pretty rainbow charging effect

  • Fix Particle Effects
  • Shooter particle effects (pew pew)
  • Profiling (Under perfs on the site)

  • Found Subtask which helps visualize all our tasks for this project

  • More particle effects - fog + push away for tentacle + bigger bullets
  • More Bug fixin
  • More profiling - memory, perf with multiple clients and more tentacles

What I did

  • Particle effects galore!
  • Finished up fog which turned into darkness
  • Effects for the grappling hook
  • Started texturing arena, finished all walls but one
  • Shiny Portals for the tentacles
  • Testing, bug fixing

  • Texturing, cracks and holes, monster parts
  • Helping with Head attacks and doing stun gun graphics
  • Profiling!!

What I am doing next week

  • Cleaning Up
  • More rendering stuff probably.

  • Textured the arena
  • Added moving and static platforms
  • Tested out fullscreen mode and fixed exiting bugs
  • Merged arena to develop
  • Harpoon graphics

  • More Graphics
  • Fix black wall bug
  • Add crates
  • Fix platforms physics
  • Optimizing
  • Clean up particle effects for players
  • Profiling!!

What I am doing next week

  • Cleaning Up

Week 9 Report

What I did

  • Added crates
  • Fixed platforms physics model
  • Rengering Optimizations
  • Fourth player graphics
  • Clean up particle effect for players

What I am doing this week

  • Reduce number of particles
  • Smaller scientist particles in third person
  • Smaller/Remove scientist particles in first person
  • Maybe change fireball/bullet texture
  • Cross-hairs for targeting in first person
  • Slower rage particles
  • Screenshots
  • Play with numbers for damage, health, number of tentacles, gravity, camera speed, etc.

  • DEMO!!
